How it works in practice

PDF rotation changes how a page is displayed. It is different from rotating pixels inside an image editor, so it can often fix orientation without deliberately degrading page content.

Example: A 12-page scan has pages 4 and 9 sideways. Rotate those pages instead of rescanning the entire document.

Before you use it

Rotation does not straighten a skewed photograph taken at an angle.
It does not crop margins or fix perspective distortion.
