Choose the tool by the result you actually need

PDF tools are most useful when you first decide whether you need to preserve page appearance, recover editable text, reorganize pages or simply meet a file-size limit. PDF is a fixed-page container, so “convert” can mean very different technical operations.

Where browser tools have limits

For important documents, keep the original and inspect the output. Scanned PDFs may need OCR; PDF-to-Word can lose layout; compression may rasterize pages; certificate-backed signatures require specialist workflows.

Each individual tool page includes its own examples, limitations and FAQs rather than repeating one generic set of promises across the category.
